Medical Products

In this collection you will find all the products that you may need to complement your first aid kits in the workplace, in your vehicles and in your home. In addition, you will find our per-unit products in the event that you may need to replace any of the contents of your kits.

Essential medical tools for emergency intervention

First aid medical tools are distinct from consumables like bandages and compresses: they are active devices, mostly reusable, that allow the first responder to act directly on vital functions or to prevent a rapid deterioration of the injured person's condition.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation: CPR mask and Ambu bag

The CPR mask with one-way valve is the basic resuscitation tool for any rescuer. Its one-way valve protects the rescuer from any contact with the victim's secretions while allowing effective mouth-to-mask ventilation. It slips into a kit or pocket and requires no advanced training to use.

The ambu bag-mask (self-inflating bag with face mask) is the next step up in terms of intervention capability. It allows for two-handed assisted ventilation with controlled tidal volume, without relying on the rescuer's breath. Used by advanced first aid teams, paramedics, and industrial safety brigades, it is indicated when prolonged or higher quality ventilation is required while awaiting professional help.

Emergency eye care: eye wash, isotonic solution and magnetic stick

Ocular splashes (chemical, dusty, or biological) are a frequent medical emergency in industrial, laboratory, and catering environments. The eye-rinsing protocol recommended by Canadian occupational health organizations is a minimum of 15 minutes at low hydrostatic pressure for any splash of an irritating or corrosive substance.

The portable eyewash kit allows for immediate rinsing without waiting for a fixed station. Its individual format makes it transportable to construction sites, workshops, or in a mobile first aid kit. The sterile isotonic solution is the recommended rinsing solution: its neutral pH and physiological salt concentration (0.9%) do not irritate the cornea, unlike tap water, and it maintains the integrity of ocular tissues during rinsing.

The magnetic eye pencil addresses another type of emergency: the extraction of superficial metallic foreign bodies (metal splinters, filings) deposited on the conjunctiva or cornea. Its low-intensity medical magnet attracts ferrous particles without invasive contact, allowing for safe extraction while awaiting ophthalmological consultation.

Anti-choking: the DébloquAIR

The DébloquAIR is a negative pressure airway clearance device. When the Heimlich maneuver cannot be performed (victim alone, obese, pregnant, infant) or fails, this device creates controlled suction to remove foreign bodies obstructing the pharyngolaryngeal junction. Its use does not require specific training, and its compact size makes it suitable for inclusion in any professional first aid kit.

Choosing and maintaining medical tools according to context

A medical tool that is poorly maintained or unsuitable for the context may be unusable at a critical moment. The selection and maintenance of such equipment meet precise criteria depending on the environment in which it is used.

Professional Use: adapting tools to the industry sector

In industrial environments with a risk of splashes (chemistry, metallurgy, welding, machining), portable eye washes and isotonic solutions are priority equipment. Canadian standards recommend their accessibility within 10 seconds from any at-risk workstation.

In the paramedical sector and in security brigades, the Ambu bag complements the CPR mask to ensure quality ventilation during prolonged interventions. In environments where choking is a specific risk (childcare, long-term care facilities, catering, sports), the Dechoker is a direct complement to training in choking first aid maneuvers.

Periodic verification and maintenance of medical tools

Unlike consumables that are replaced after use, reusable medical tools must be checked regularly. For the CPR mask: check the integrity of the one-way valve (deformation, crack, obstruction), the seal of the face mask, and general cleanliness.

For the Ambu bag: test self-inflation after compression, check for leaks on the mask, and control the pressure relief valve. For the eye wash: check the expiration date of the isotonic solution, the integrity of the seal, and the absence of limescale deposits on the nozzle. Any tool with a defect must be removed from the kit and replaced immediately via our refill collection.

Medical Tools Required in Canadian First Aid Kits

The CAN/CSA Z1220-24 standard incorporates several medical tools into the mandatory workplace first aid kit supplies. The resuscitation mask (CPR mask with valve) is required in almost all configurations, regardless of the risk level. Employers subject to WSIB (Ontario), WorkSafeBC (British Columbia), or WCB Alberta must ensure that these tools are present, functional, and accessible at all times.

Emergency eyewash stations, on the other hand, are mandated by provincial occupational health and safety regulations in any environment where there is a risk of eye splashes identified in the risk assessment. The Canada Labour Code (SOR/86-304) reiterates these requirements for federally regulated companies.
